Identified locally as the site of a mass burial/common grave associated with the nearby Kilmallock Workhouse, presumably before a dedicated burial ground was opened for the Workhouse. Measuring 8.5m E-W x 2m it appears to be a linear trench grave. Previously identifed Great Famine graves elsewhere are usually identified as ground hollows (square or long) so this mounded feature is unusual.
