To the memory of the
Revd John Vere Benson M.A.
Thirteen years Rector of
Castleconnell. This tablet is
erected by his parishioners, as
a token of their affectionate
regard for his anxious exertions
to promote their spiritual
welfare, and as a tribute to the
earnest and simple piety, the
kindly disposition and active
benevolence, which endeared
him to all classes.
Removed from the scene of his
labours here, by a lingering disease.
He was called by his heavenly
master on Good Friday, 3rd April
1863, in the 59th year of his age.
Pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.
