Description: Very decorative top with beautiful carving, somewhat similar to No. 54 – Roman I H S with the H surmounted by a Ionic Cross, beneath the H is a winged Cherub (symbol of the Souls ascent into Heaven), all are enclosed in a double circle that bears the inscription – “Gloria in Excelsis Deo”, this in turn is enclosed in a foliated border with on each shoulder, a heart and “sparrow pecked” figure which resembles a dove, again this is enclosed in a double foliated border. The deeply incised “clear” lettering is in Roman capitals and script with serifs and is enclosed in a wide decorative pattern border.
