Here lie the ashes of John Macdona of Hilbrie House, West Kirby, Cheshire, M.A. Trinity College, Dublin and Barrister at law of the Middle Temple. A descendant of Bryan MacDonagh, the restorer of Sligo Abbey A.D. 1416. Member of the British House of Commons for the Rotherhithe division of London for three consecutive parliaments 1892-1906. Originator of the Irish Guards died May 4th 1907, aged 71. R.I.P. "Like as the heart desireth the waterbrooks, so longeth my soul after thee 0 God". Ps. 42.1.
