Arthur P Ward was son of Patrick & Mary Ward (nee Ward) Kidlawn born on the 16th March 1883.He was born into a family 15 with 11 living according to the Irish 1911 census. He trained as a Teacher. Arthur joined the RIC on the 21st October 1907. He was selected for service in the South Irish Horse Regiment and fought in WW1. He also joined the Army, Air Force & then emigrated to Palestine to become a Magistrate (Contact Moore History Group for details on his miltary life) Arthur never married. He returned to England where he died in Sailsbury House, Highbury Corner, London aged 53 years (wrong age on the headstone) and was interred in Kilbegley cemetery.

Arthur's sister Kate Ward was born in 1865. Her first marriage was to Kieran Kelly, Clonshask on the 5th February 1883. Kieran "accidently drowned in the River Shannon" on the 20th July 1884 aged 32 years. Their son Patrick Francis was born on the 23rd August 1884.
Kate, a widow, aged 23 years remarried Patrick Shea, Cloneash aged 26 years on the 7th January 1886. They had 3 children: Anne (1889), James(1891-1891 aged 3 days) & John Joseph (1902). Patrick Shea died on the 22nd June 1919 aged 57 years and his wife Kate died on the 23rd December 1947 aged 82 years and she was interred in this plot with her brother Arthur Ward. Her death was registered by her son Joseph Shea.
