Mark the perfect man and behold the upright for the end of that man is peace. Sacred
to the memory of
the Revd William Richey
Wesleyan Minister
who departed this life 23rd July 1847
in the 54th year of his age
and 33rd of his ministry.
He was eminently useful
as a minister of Christ.
His love for the souls and bodies
of his fellow men was unbounded.
His most prominent virtue was
humility and his only hope was in
the merit of his Saviour.
His last words were “Rock of ages
cleft for me, let me hide
myself in Thee.”
Here also resteth the remains
of his much loved wife
Anne
who having faithfully served God
for many years departed in great peace
Sep 21 1881 aged 77 years.
