Here lies the body of Lieut Anthony Watters born in Kilkenny the 27th day of January 1748, departed this life the 4th day of December 1814 aged 66 years, in the faith ,hope and firm reliance of a happy resurrection in his Lord Jesus Christ, his Saviour Redeemer and Mediator. Here also lieth the body of his wife Anne Waters who departed this life the 7th of February 1826 in the 86th year of her age. She was truly religious and of a most amiable disposition

Reputed to be one of the parties involved in the last duel held at Youghal, on 7th April 1780,between two friends, both officers of the 32nd Regiment.The headstone appears to have been re-inscribed over the original lettering only on the dates and age.There may therefore be some inaccuracy in the transcription of this stone.
