The Dunne family were planning to build a house on their farm at Mahalough in 1914. They decided to build the house on the eastern side of the fence of a long field but on the advice of a family member, on the Mallow side - Ballinamona, that there was a passage there from a graveyard in Mahalough to the graveyard in Canovee it was changed to other side of the fence.
