Headstone in limestone: Beautifully carved decoration and inscription by Walter Skally

Description: Within a circular cartouche - in high relief- roman I H S with Omega forming the bar of the H which is surmounted by a Cross, beneath the H is a Heart pierced 3 times.  This is all enclosed in a full Sunburst with semi-circles joining the points of the star.  On each shoulder is a blooming Tree of Life (symbolising the resurrection).  The inscription panel is enclosed in decorative border with a repeating lozenge pattern.  The lettering has fluid cursive style Capitals and script.  Note the long S in sister and the sub-script on the who and aged.   “Hoc Fecit” is Latin for “Who Made”
