Beneath this Stone lies the Remains of Hannah Hutchinson who departed this life the 27. of Jany 1827 aged 49 years, this monument was erected by her husband Lieu1 W Hutchinson R.N. as a tribute of afection to her many virtues.

"Hutchinson Mrs. On Sunday last, at her lodgings in the Mainguard, Mrs. Hutchinson, Lady of Captain Hutchinson of his Majesty's Gun. Brig. Plumper". For her husband see the following reference The Galway Weekly Advertiser. May 26th (1827). (Account of Lieutenant Hutchinson and the Plumper). "His Majesty's Gun Brig Plumper.... will sail hence for Portsmouth in a few days, there it is thought she will be put out of Commission. While stationed Lieut. Hutchinson endeared himself to all by the affability of his manners as an officer and gentleman".
