The Galway Weekly Advertiser. January 23rd. (1826). "Died. A few days since in the Shambles Barracks, Galway, Lieutenant Patterson, of the 1st. Royal Veteran Battalion. This gentleman maintained a high character amongst his Brother officers, by whom he was deservedly regretted and his remains were interred with military honours in the Churchyard of St. Nicholas, on Thursday."
