CAMPBELL and EAWON
Notes:

A R.S. with a semi-circular top. Now recumbent but might possibly have been a H.S. originally. Inc'd. Ins.. The spelling of Ea on (for Eawon) is unusual but the " " of" ho" which follows is also of the form. The use of an " " (curved "n") for ”w" is common in 18th century inscriptions. See Higgins and Me Hugh (1989), 127-32 and Higgins (1990) 120-51 (Gravestone Appendices) for other instances. Other examples also occur at St. Nicholas' (See Nos. 35 and 406). The "Ias" is probably an abbreviation for James. See also Nos. 153, 166, 167, 235 and 287 for other Campbells. -
