Surname:
MONTGOMERY
Notes:

A R.S. in fair condition. The stone is flaking and cracked in places. It has a single-line border and the comers are rounded. The Montgomery coat of arms is carved in false relief over the inscription. A moto scroll bears the words "HONEUR SANS REPOS". The letters "HMG" are in the centre of the arms. These stand presumably, for Hugh Montgomery. The coat of arms is enclosed within a central escutcheon charged with three fleurs-de-lis. The crest is a bent, armoured arm holding a broken tilting spear. Inc’d. Ins. and there are some spiral flourishes near the top of the epitaph. See also Nos. 129 and 136 for other Montgomery monuments and heraldry.
