FitzGerald (1910-12), 82 gives more or less the same reading as Fleetwood Berry but gives the date as "YE 28 OF MARCH 171(?) and the wife’s name as "CHRISTIAN”. Fleetwood Berry (1912 A), 5. He gives a fuller reading of this inscription than it is possible to give now. Though he mistakes "lye” for "lyeth" in the first line the rest of his reading is very useful. It is as follows "Here lye the body of Hugh Tumor who died the 28 of March 1758 also his wife Christina and their Posterity".
