Evers is a surname, I know Evers in Co Meath. There is no other record of them in Conahy or Kilmacar. This could be a girl or woman as the next letter is an "A" followed by what looks the the first stroke of a "Y". So one can guess who Ay Evers was. It is the oldest inscription in Kilmacar Graveyard and at the West gable where many of the original burial are. There is nothing exravagant about the stone, sandstone missing piece(s). The Evers were unlikely to have been well off, but the primitave stone conveyes Love. It was protected from the elements by grass and sod cover.
