Exact wording of epitaph:

( Side 1 South facing)
SACRED to the memory of Richard Marum Esq of Aharney
Endeared to all who knew him by the genuine
goodness of his heart and disposition.
Most sincere as a friend. His affection as a husband
was ardent & unceasing. His solicitude for his children
-boundless & unwearied
taken from her in the bloom of health & beauty
his deeply afflicted Widow Elizabeth Marum
otherwise Mulhallen. Erected this tomb
as a trifling record of his virtues
Her high admiration of them
And her strong unalterable attachment.
Recquiecat in Pace
(Side 2 North facing)
Elizabeth Purcell Marum otherwise
Mulhallen. Eldest daughter of John
Purcell Mulhallen of the City of Kilkenny
Esqr Captain 85th Regt died on the
16th day of June 1846
Her ashes lie interred at Aharney
Church where her Son had Erected a
Tomb in memory of the best of Parents
Why seek to trace here a frail Epitaph
of her Virtues already engraven on Eternal Record?
May She rest in Peace
