Catherine ( Kit )  Mackey, nee McCarthy (1907-1994) was born on the 12-06-1907 in Garrydoolis, Templebredon, Co. Limerick to parents  John McCarhy (1873-1950) & Ellen  Hayes (1873-1964).

She married  Michael Mackey (1896-1982), son of Andrew Mackey (1841-1916) & Mary  Hartnett  (1854-1951) in Templebredon RC, Co. Limerick on the 20th Nov 1926.

Children born to them were Andrew Mackey (1927-2002), Mary 1928, Ellen (Peggy) 1929-2021,  Johanna (Judy) 1930  & John (Jack ) 1932-2018.

Ellen Mackey (1929-2021), known as Peggy, died on the 6th Oct 2021 in St Anthonys Nursing Home, Pallasgrean, Co. Limerick  and was interred in this cemetery on Sat 9th Oct 2021. At the time of her death, she was survived by her sister Mary Murphy of Cappamore, Co. Limerick.

Her obituary reads as follows :

Mackey, Ellen (Peggy) (Ballyvoreen, Cappamore, Co Limerick) October 6th 2021, peacefully, in her 93rd year, in the excellent care of the management and staff of St Anthony’s Nursing Home, Pallasgreen. Pre-deceased by her parents Catherine and Michael, brothers Andy and Jack, sister  Judy Braniff. Sadly missed by her sister Mary Murphy (Cappamore).

Requiem Mass in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Murroe, at 11.30am on Saturday, October 9th, and burial afterwards in Ballinure Cemetery.
