Philip O'Shea 1895-1946, was born on Jul 1st 1895 in Castlecluggin, Oola, Co. Limerick to parents Michael (Mick) O'Shea 1859-1930 & Johanna (Judy) Leonard 1858-1935. He married  Sarah (Sadie) Ryan 1896-1978 in Nicker RC, Pallasgrean, Co. Limerick on the 15th Aug 1916. Sadie Ryan was born on the 15th Apr 1896 in Nicker, Pallasgrean, Co. Limerick to postman Laurence ( Larry ) Ryan 1863-1933 & his wife Ellen Condon 1868-1912. Philip O'Shea 1895-1946 died of a heart attack while working in a garden in Carrigkettle, Kilteely, Co. Limerick.

Children born to Philip O'Shea & Sadie Ryan were as follows :

1. Ellen (Nellie) O' Shea 1917-2013, married Thomas (Tom) O'Leary 1911-2007, son of Patrick O'Leary 1874-1950 & Mary Downes 1879-1948 of Carrigkettle, Kilteely, Co. Limerick on the 21st Nov 1944 in Templebredon RC, Co. Limerick. NB See memorial LI-KTLY-0295 in Kilteely cemetery, Co. Limerick on the historicgraves website for relevant details.

2. Michael O'Shea 1919-1942, remembered at  this memorial, was accidentally drowned in Egypt during World War 2. He was a Lance Bombardier with the Royal Horse Artillery F BTY 4 Regiment. Service number was 889344. He is commemorated at Alamein Memorial, Column 5 in Egypt

3. Josephine P (Resa) O'Shea 1921-1982, married Patrick (Paddy) McCarthy 1913-1974, son of John McCarthy 1873-1950 & Ellen Hayes 1873-1964 of Garrydoolis, Pallasgrean, Co. Limerick on the 30th Aug 1939 in Templebredon RC, Co. Limerick. Resa & her husband Paddy McCarthy are remembered at memorial 0095 in this cemetery as is their infant daughter Ellen McCarthy 1940-1944, who died due to enteritis. Their son Larry McCarthy is remembered at memorial 0094 in this cemetery. Paddy McCarthy's sister Mary McCarthy 1902-1993, a dressmaker and his parents John & Ellen are remembered at memorial 0097 in this cemetery.

4. Laurence ( Larry ) O'Shea 1923-2003, known as Rinsy, is remembered at this memorial. Birth was registered Mar Qtr 1923. He married Violet M Wright  in 1950 in Islington, London, UK. They returned from London, later in life to live at his mother Sadie's house located near this cemetery. Violet moved back to London a few years after Rinsy's death and put the house up for sale.

5. Thomas O'Shea 1925-2008, married Dorothea Dundon 1931-1995, daughter of Patrick Dundon 1895-1967 & Mary C Conway 1901-1981 of Bury, Lancs, UK in 1955 in Bury. Dorothea's paternal grandfather Patrick Dundon 1859-1941 is remembered at memorial 0067 in this cemetery. Thomas O'Shea died in Mar 2008 in Bury, Lancs, UK, his wife Dorothea predeceased him on the 3rd Aug 1995. They were both interred in Bury cemetery. Their sons were Dennis O'Shea 1959-1959 & Gerard 1961-2007, who was killed in a single vehicle car accident.

6. Sarah (Sadie) O'Shea 1927-2018. Died a widow in Birmingham, UK on the 4th Jan 2018. See memorial 0101  for her husband  Albert P Hogan 1928-1982 in this cemetery.

7. Gerard O'Shea 1930-2008, married  Josephine (Josie) D'Arcy, daughter of John D'Arcy 1897-1984 & Annie Hanly 1901-1997 of Corelish, Pallasgrean, Co. Limerick on the 20th Nov 1954 in Bracknell, Berks UK. Later in life, they returned to live in Oola, Co. Limerick. Gerard died on the 3rd Oct 2008 and was interred in the new section of St. Fintan's cemetery in Doon, Co. Limerick.
