19 yr old Patrick (Pat) Commons 1857-1928, married 18 yr old Bridget Ellis 1858-1919 (recorded here)  in Templebredon RC, Co. Limerick on the 16th Jul 1876. Both their fathers were called William.

Their children, born in Templebredon, included  Hanora Commons 1876-1878, William 1881, John 1884-1966  Hanora 1888, Bridget 1891-1907, Michael 1893, James 1893-1959 (recorded here) Mary 1895 & Denis 1898-1970.

Denis Commons 1898-1970, emigrated to Pennsylvania, USA where his surname became Americanised as Cummings. He married Annie Carten and had a daughter Ann Marie Cummings 1933-2016 who married James Alison Carr 1931-2019.  At the time of death  of Ann Marie Carr, nee Cummings on the 13th Oct 2016 in Wayne, Delaware, PA, her surviving children were Michael Carr, Sharon Irwin & Donna Pierce.

James Commons 1893-1959 of this memorial, married Winifred Hennessy (1900-1975), daughter of Cornelius (Con) Hennessy 1866-1908 & Mary Fitzgerald 1864-1932 of Kilcornan, Cullen  parish, Co. Tipperary  on the 9th Feb 1937 in Templebredon RC, Co. Limerick. Their  son, Peter Commons 1939-2022, died in Templebredon on the 3rd Mar 2022 and was interred in Templebredon  cemetery with his parents, his aunt Bridget Commons 1891-1907,  and his grandmother Bridget Commons, nee Ellis (1858-1919).

James (Jimmy) Commons, son and eldest child of Peter Commons 1939-2022, died aged 43 yrs at Boarmans Hill, Murroe, Co. Limerick on the 4th May 2008 and is interred at memorial LI-ABGN-0672 on the historicgraves website in Abington cemetery, Co. Limerick.

Mary Hennessy, nee Fitzgerald 1864-1932, wife of Con Hennessy 1866-1908 is recorded with her parents, her  brother James & her sister Winifred Duhig, nee Fitzgerald  at memorial TS-EMOG-0388 on the historicgraves website in Emly’s old cemetery, Co. Tipperary.

The obituary of Peter Commons 1939-2022, reads as follows :

The death has occurred of Peter Commons of Templebredon, Pallasgrean,  Co. Limerick on the  3rd March 2022.

Peter, predeceased by his son Jimmy. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Peggie nee (McGrath), sons Seán & Peter, daughter Áine, daughters-in-law Joan (Fitzgibbon), Trish (Tobin), Catherina (Barrett), brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Brian, Jack, Shane, Mark, Brónagh & Siún, cousins Bridget (Houlihan) & Mary (Spillane), great neighbours cousins, relatives & friends.

 Reposing at his residence in Templebredon  on Saturday evening from 4pm to 6pm. Peter's funeral cortége will leave his residence on Sunday afternoon Mar 6th at 2pm for funeral Mass at 2.30pm. in Templebredon Church.. Burial afterwards in Templebredon cemetery.

 John Commons 1884-1966, married Ellen Hennessy 1898-1974, a younger sister of his brother James Commons wife.

 Their children included Patrick (Paddy) Commons 1922-1997, Martin 1923-1990, Cornelius (Con) 1925-2014, William 1927-1998, James 1931-1931, Michael 1931-1931, Mary 1932 & Bridget 1936.

 Patrick (Paddy) Commons 1922-1997 , a bachelor, was a shoemaker and had a premises in Hospital, Co. Limerick for a number of years and later carried on the business at his home in Cloughready, Templebredon. He was interred at memorial TS-EMOG-0483 in Emly cemetery, Co. Tipperary on the historicgraves website

 Martin Commons 1923-1990 died in Greystones, Co. Wicklow on the 17th Nov 1990.

 Michael Commons & his twin brother  James, were five months old when they died on the 31st Jul  & 2nd Aug 1931 respectively due to delicacy since birth.

 Mary Commons 1932, married  Tim  Spillane who died on the 8th Jul 2020. Tim’s obituary reads as follows :

The death has occurred of Timothy (Tim) Spillane of Farranlea Grove, Model Farm Road, Cork on July 8th 2020, peacefully at the Cork University Hospital,

 Late of Irish Dunlop, dearly loved husband of Mary (née Commons), loving father of Ellmarie (Dowd), Thecla (Bene) and James and dear brother of Teresa, Anne and the late Mavis and Michael.

 Sadly missed by his loving wife, family, sons-in-law Michael and Anthony, daughter-in-law Jackie, grandchildren Lauren, Clodagh, Melissa, Eilish and Roisin, great-granddaughter Mary, relatives and friends. A private family funeral will take place, in accordance with current guidelines.

 Bridget  Commons  1936, married  Thomas (Tommy) Houlihan  1931-2000,  son of Thomas Houlihan & Catherine Browne. Tommy died on the 11th Dec 2000 and is interred in Emly’s new cemetery, Co. Tipperary

 Cornelius  (Con)  Commons 1925-2014.  Con emigrated to Pennslyvania, USA in Dec 1950  and his surname became Americanised as Cummings.  He married Kathleen Kearney 1922-2012, a native of Co. Roscommon. Kathleen preceded him in death  on the 12th Jun 2012. Con’s obituary reads as follows :

 Cornelius Cummings, age 88, a 54 year resident of Upper Darby, Delaware, PA, passed away on April 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in County Tipperary, Ireland, he was the son of the late John and Ellen Commons (nee Hennessy).

 Mr. Cummings was employed by AQUA PA, formerly Philadelphia Suburban Water Company for 35 years. He retired in 1993. Mr. Cummings was a devoted husband, family man, and the ultimate quiet man.

He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen Cummings (nee Kearney). Survivors: His children Mary Ellen Fair (Bill), Cathy Dougherty (Rich), Fran Beese (Don) and Sean Cummings (Donna).

Pop Pop of Greg, Maura, Brendan, Shawna Juisti (Steven), Rick (Ashley), Mike, Allison McElhenney (Mike), Briana, Donnie, Devon, Sean, Ryan, Matthew and Megan. Great-grand Pop Pop of Ava and Alivia Juisti.

 Also survived by his sisters Mary Spillane (Tim) and Bridget Houlihan, his sisters-in-law Kay Commons, Eleanor Cummings, Delia Harding and Ann Shanagher, his brother-in-law Cornelius Kearney and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Patrick, Martin and William.

 William  P Commons 1927-1998. He also emigrated to Pennslyvania, USA  and his surname  like his brother Con’s became Americanised as Cummings.  He married Eleanor T McCloskey 1930-2017.  William died in Havertown, Delaware, PA  on the 8th Jan 1998. His wife Eleanor died there on the 10th Nov 2017. Her obituary reads as follows :

Eleanor T. Cummings (nee McCloskey), age 86, of Havertown, PA, passed away on June 10, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine McCloskey (nee Corcoran). She was a kind, welcoming, and devoted mother. She was also devoted to her Catholic faith.

She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, Class of 1950. Eleanor worked for Curtis Publishing and TV Guide as a Supervisor and Customer Service Representative for over thirty years.

During her working years, she enjoyed Irish dancing, Irish music, travelling to County Mayo and County Tipperary in Ireland, watching Flyers hockey and being a hockey mom for Monsignor Bonner High School. She also enjoyed watching old movies on TMC and was a huge fan of Chuck Norris.

Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late William P. Cummings; dear mother of Bill Cummings (Cheryl), Kevin Cummings, Michael J. Cummings (Karen), Thecla Bene (Tony) and the late Maureen Cummings 1964-1965.

She was nanny to Patrick, Jeffrey, Alexa, Daniel, Lauren, Meghan, Melissa, Shane, Moira, Kevin, Jake, Maeve and Liam. She was great-grandmother to Hunter and Ellie Katherine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and to many others who knew her as "Aunt Ellie".

Maureen  Cummings born 1st Nov 1964 , died 7th Jan 1965 in Darby, Delaware PA due to cerebal palsy complications, was a daughter of  William P Cummings 1927-1998 & his wife Eleanor T McCloskey 1930-2017.
