Michael  English, son of  Thomas English,  married  Catherine  McKough  / McKeough, daughter  of  Thomas McKough / McKeough  on the 25th Feb 1867 in Sologhead  RC.

Children born to them at Ballyneety South, Templebredon, Co. Limerick  included Patrick English 1868, Thomas M 1870, James 1872, Margaret 1874 & John 1877-1877.  Their mother, Catherine  died on the 27th March 1877 , eleven days after the birth & death of her son John. Recorded at adjacent memorial 0057

Thomas  M  English, born 16th Mar 1870, married  Catherine ( Kate ) Murphy (1862 -  )    daughter  of  Tobias  Murphy  &  Mary  Scanlan  of Lodge, Hospital, Co. Limerick  on the 12th Feb 1890 in Hospital  RC, Co. Limerick.

Their  children  included  Michael  Martin  English 1890-1967,  Tobias  M  1892-1928, Catherine  Agnes (Kathleen)  1895-1906, Patrick 1896-1947,  John  Andrew  1897,  James  1900-1968,  Thomas  Patrick  1902-1975  & Cornelius  Francis  1904-1980.

Michael  Martin  English  1890-1967 joined the priesthood and  became a Monsignor. He was pastor of St Patrick’s in Butte, Montana, USA for 53 years. He died there on the 4th Oct 1967 and was interred there in St Patrick’s cemetery. Recorded here as having had this memorial erected.

Tobias  M  English  1892-1928  became  a doctor. He died in Pasco, Franklin, Washington, USA  on the 23rd Jun 1928 and was interred there  in City View cemetery.  Recorded at this memorial

Catherine  Agnes  (Kathleen)  English  1895-1906, died, aged eleven years at Ballyneety South, Templebredon  on the 1st Jul 1906 due to tuberculosis & diphtheria. Recorded at this memorial

Patrick  English  1896-1947  joined An Garda Siochana  and held the rank of Superintendent at the time of his marriage to Johanna  Gertrude  Reardon (1900 -  ), daughter of  Michael Reardon & Eliza Moloney  of Bottomstown, Knockainey, Co. Limerick on the 17th Jun 1924 in Thurles Cathedral, Co. Tipperary. He died, aged 51, due to tuberculosis, at Ballyneety South, Templebredon  on the 28th Oct 1947.  Recorded at this memorial

2.Michael  English  1926 -2000. Of this memorial. Married  Rose O’Connor. (See her obituary at this memorial)

3.Tobias  P  ( Toby )  English  1929-2016. Ordained  a priest in 1963. Served 4 years in the US Air Force. Began his ministry at St. Andrew's parish, Pasadena, California in 1977 and was pastor there from 1982 to when he retired in 1999.  Named as a Monsignor by Pope John Paul  in 1984. Died 21st April 2016 in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California.  Was interred in Calvary cemetery, Los Angeles on Wed 27-04-2016.

4. Kathleen  English  (1930 -    )  Emigrated to the USA in Apr 1951 and married Donald B Rearick (1929 -  ) in Los Angeles, CA on the 17th Jun 1952.  She was living in San Diego, California when her brother Toby died in 2016.

 5.  Mary  E  English  1932-2022. She married Brendan Brennan. She died in Dundrum, Dublin on the 17th Jan 2022. Her husband predeceased her on the 17th Jan 2007.  See her obituary  at this memorial

 6. Teresa  M  English  (1935 -  ). She became a Presentation nun in Doon Convent, Co. Limerick. Known as Sr. Cecilia.

 John  Andrew  English  born  9th Nov 1897.

Thomas  Patrick  English  1902-1975. Joined the priesthood and was ordained in Thurles, Co. Tipperary on the 06-12-1927. Emigrated to the USA and became a Monsignor. Pastor of St. Joseph's Church in Pomona, California from 1943-1974. He died there on the 8th May 1975. Recorded here as having had this memorial erected.

 NB. Obituary of  Rose  English,  wife of  Michael  English  1926-2000  reads as follows :

Death of  English, Rose (nee O' Connor) Templebraden House, Templebraden, Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick, formerly Streedagh, Grange, Co. Sligo on Thursday 17th February 2022, peacefully at her home.

Predeceased by her husband  Michael.

Deeply regretted by her son Michael, sisters in law Sr Cecelia & Kathleen, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives & friends.

Reposing at her residence this Saturday evening from 6 o clock to 8 o clock. Requiem Mass  on Sunday 20th Feb at 1.30 pm in St Brigid's Church, Templebraden with burial afterwards in Templebraden cemetery.

NB. Obituary of  Mary  E  Brennan, nee  English 1932-2022 , sister  of  Michael  English 1926-2000 of this memorial  reads as follows :

Mary Brennan, nee English of Dundrum, Dublin 16 and late of Templebraden, Co. Limerick, on the 17th January 2022.
Peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff at Catherine McAuley Nursing Home, Beaumont. Predeceased by her beloved husband Brendan. Loving mother to Michael, Trudy, Patrick, Claire and Jeni.
 Mary will be very sadly missed by her loving family, cherished grandchildren Robert, Alanna and Ben, daughter-in-law Carolyn, sons-in-law Joe and Philip, her sisters Kathleen and Sr. Cecilia, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law. nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her brothers Francis, Michael and Monsignor Tobias.
Removal on Thursday morning (January 20th) to the Church of St John the Evangelist, Ballinteer for funeral Mass at 11 am followed by a private committal in Mount Jerome Crematorium.
