The stone is now lying face-down but John Mulholland (Decies 16 (1981), 62) records the following inscription which (by a process of elimination) is probably from this stone: "Erected by Thomas Butler of Kilnagrange in memory of his wife Anastatia Butler died Feby. 23rd 1875 aged 65 also his daughter Johanna died March 28th 1867 aged 15 and two of his children died young."
