Here lieth the Body of Bagenal Gurly Esq
Who departed this life the 25 th day of Feb 1796
Aged 26 years as also his only Child  [......]  two 
sisters and one brother

Raised by a parents hands this hallowed tomb
his corpse [........] down in daily bloom
His image is on all our hearts  [.......]
And his pure soul dwelleth among the Blessed
Short was his mortal soul [.....] his high will
And well did he each parts therein fulfill
With [.......] temper and real manners Blessed

As son as husband and as friend approved
By all lauded as by all beloved
