Sacred to the Memory of Anne
the beloved Wife of Arthur Guinness of Rutland Square in this City Esqre.
and the respected Mother of a numerous family.
She was born on the 26th of September A.D.1774 and died on the 21st of February A.D.1817
Her mortal remains are deposited in a Vault belonging to his family in the Church Yard
at the east end of this Church.
Eminently adorned with those external advantages which attract admiration and command respect,
She was still more remarkable for the peculiar excellencies of heart and mind
which distinguish the Christian Character.
A gentle, unaffected and modest deportment,-a zealous, persevering, and unostentatious benevolence,
equally tender and judicious,
an affectionate solicitude to anticipate the wishes, and supply the wants of others,
a sound judgment divested of prejudice,-a matronly discretion with the meekness of wisdom,
and a calm and even sweetness of temper,
endeared her to the Circle in which she moved, and made her at once
the object of its love and its veneration.
Long and deeply will her loss be felt and mourned, while her bright example will be lasting and efficacious.
She endured a protracted and painful illness with uncommon patience and resignation,
sustained by a true and lively faith, in the atoning blood and justifying righteousness,
of the Blessed Redeemer our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ;
and having enjoyed His peace below, She resigned her sainted spirit into His hand,
who will raise her up at the last day;
"and where He is there shall also His Servant be".
"Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord" Revels 14 Ch 13 Ver.
Her mortal remains were removed to the Family vault at the Cemetery Mount Jerome, 8th February, 1844.
