MAJOR THOMAS D'ARCY
Having faithfully served his King and Country,
In many stations of high trust
Both civil and military;
And latterly, for ten years, in that of
INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE
FOR THE PROVINCE OF ULSTER;
Terminated his valuable life by a premature death,
The consequence of unremitted exertions
In the discharge of his official duties,-
the 13th of December 1832 in the 50th year of his age,
and was buried in the Churchyard of this parish.
This Memorial was erected by his Children,
who with affectionate remembrance
of their Father's domestic virtues,
and with affliction for his loss
Cherish the hope of being reunited to his society
In a better state of existence,
By the mercy of God,
and through the merits of their Redeemer.
