This Monument to the memory of his beloved wife and her father George Daunt Esq Surgeon was erected A.D. 1819. At an early Period of life Surgeon Daunt chose this city as the theatre of his professional pursuits and practice , in which He was eminently successful, and with a reputation pure and honourable soon acqured an independant fortune. He Died at his house William street in this parish 4th of may 1786 aged 74 years, Leaving issue three Daughters one of whom Mildred intermarried with Mr Pleasants and whom died in his life time on the 1st Of Feb 1814. A sketch of her character as given by her husband in his last will is that she was a woman of great general information and of the sweetest temper, A plous charitable, good christian and the best of wives.
