Erected by Mary Forstall alias Maher of Ballyreddin, to the memory of her beloved son the Rev. Philip Forstall Roman Catholic curate who departed this life on 11th of April age of our Lord 1831 aged 38 years.
May he rest in Peace Amen.
Decoration above inscription faded IHS two chalices and Gloria inexcelsis Deo. Stone facing opposite direction to the rest of memorials in the graveyard, orientation West East, this practice was customary of the clergy to face their flock.

Fr Forstal's uncle Michael was P.P. of Callan and is mentioned in Carrigan's history Vol. 3 in the section on Parish Priests in Callan.
Another Uncle Fr Phillip Forstall O.F.M. was the last Franciscan priest to serve in the Old Francis Abbey in KIlkenny(Present day Smithwicks brewery) and he died in 1829, there is a reference to him in Carrigan in Vol. 2.
