A complete slab; it is now reused as paving. The Ins., which runs across the middle of the slab, is cut in low false relief. The rest of the stone has been heavily reworked with large pocking. The Ins. is partly defaced by spalling. The lower left hand comer has been broken and repaired with modem cement. The name is probably a variant on Vaughan. (See Nos. 4 and 344 for Vaughans). Fleetwood Berry (1912 B), 70. He gives CHILDREN rather than CHELDREN.
