Sacred to the memory/ of Charles Lloyd/ son of Thomas Lloyd & Mary the daughter of Sir Charles Whitworth K. B./ born the 14th of January 1780; who being with his/ regiment at Kilkenny on the march to Cork, in/ order to embark for Portugal, was on the 5th day of/ Februrary 1809 drowned in the river Nore./ He on the 14th of October 1808 was married to/ Emma daughter of General John Hale/ of Gosborough in Yorkshire./ It is she who in honour of his virtues/ and indulgence of her own affection/ causes this memorial to be erected/ in this consecrated place

Mural plaque with flat top surmounted by an heraldic shield. Below this is the main panel which is flat with a protruding inscribed hemisphere. The entire monument rests on a small moulded plinth.
