This Monument was erected by GEORGE KINGSMILL/ of the City of Kilkenny EsQ, 1st April 1789 to the/ Memory of his parents etc whose remains are here interred/ VIZ/ WILLIAM KINGSMILL his Grandfather/ who died 16th Jan 1754 aged 80 years and/ ELIZABETH KINGSMILL his Grandmother the 2nd/ of Novr 1765 aged 88 years/ ANNE KINGSMILL his Mother, wife of PARR KINGSMILL/ of the City of Kilkenny Esq, who died 1st Aprill/ 1788 aged 73 years/ FRANCIS KINGSMILL his daughter the 23rd of May/ 1787. Aged 6 weeks/ Here also lieth interred the Body of the Said/ GEORGE KINGSMILL ESQ/ Alderman of this City, who Died August the 28th 1827/ in the 80th year of his age An/ upright and useful majistrate a faithful Husband a most/ affectionate parent & a sincere friend his hope of Heaven/ was based upon the Lord Jesus Christ the only Saviour/ Also the remains of ANN KINGSMILL who died the 25th of May/ 1851 aged 7 years/ also the remains of WILLIAM KINGSMILL Esqr/ Son of Alderman PARR KINGSMILL of this City/ who departed this life March 26th 1839 Aged 19 years & 3 months

Chest tomb with inscribed cover-slap decorated at the top with an heraldic shield of the Kingsmill crest. The slab covers side and front panels decorated in false-relief with elaborate urns with flames, chalices with flames and foliate patterns.
