Revd Richard Shee was son of Christopher Shee of Stonecarthy and Rosseneany, and Martha Smyth of Danma, his wife, was born in Stonecarthy in the year 1728. Revd Richard was appointed parish Priest of Inistioge on December 21st 1764, and of Dunammaggin and Windgap on December 9th 1769 he died on July 17 1772 at the age of 44 years and willed that his remains be interred in Stonecarthy with his father. The parishioners, however, had his remains buried at Kilamory, but soon after, his friends in Stonecarthy had his body disinterred and layed to rest with his father.

This is an account given by Richard Lahart in The History and Antiquities of the Parish of Dunnamaggin. 1956
