NB. Patrick McCarthy 1818-1878 was a shopkeeper in Hospital, Co. Limerick and his son John 1852-1889 was a Primary School teacher who died of tuberculosis. Bridget McCarthy, a shopkeeper in Hospital, married John Woods 1857-1925, a shoemaker in Hospital, son of John Woods 1804-1873 & Ellen Slattery 1814-1900 on Feb 5th 1894 in Hospital RC.
Children born to John Woods and Bridget McCarthy were John Woods 1894, Patrick 1898-1910 &.James 1903-1972, Patrick Woods, aged 12, died of tuberculosis.
James Woods 1903-1972, married Mary ( Mollie ) Canty 1918-1985, daughter of James Canty 1886-1972 & Hannah ( Hannie ) Brogan 1886-1962 of Knocklong, Co. Limerick on Apr 30th 1940 in Glenbrohane RC, Co. Limerick. A son of their's, Joseph Woods died Dec 28th 1998, aged 50 yrs.
NB.Bridget Woods (nee) McCarthy died on May 12th 1942. Age at death was recorded as 87 yrs by her daughter- in - law Mary ( Mollie ) Woods, nee Canty. Bridget's husband John Woods died Feb 27th 1925 in Croom Hospital, Co. Limerick due to complications from a compound fracture of his femur. He was born in Apr 1857.
