Lord Jesus have mercy on the soul of thy servant Edward Gayer T.C., Editor Sligo Champion, born Limerick Oct. 1820, died Sligo 29 Dec. 1884. This monument was created by a few nationalists to honour the memory of one ever faithful in life to the cause of faith and fatherland. Requies in pace.
