GA-SRMY-0106

This is a small square top limestone headstone, measuring 1ft5in(H) x 1ft2in(W) x 3½in(D).  The inscised script is east facing and at the top there is a simplistic cristogram where an elongated cross intersects the H.  The mason's skill/literacy could be questioned in this instance - they use more than one capital letter in chistian name and two spelling options are given for surname, the letters hoe are inserted over the ou as if the first attempt was Donoghoe then noted as Donohoe.  The date 1786 is inscribed at the bottom right of the stone.  This does not clarify for certain that James actually died in 1786, it could be that the stone was erected in 1786.
