Pray for the soul of
JAMES CONRY
Decd Ap 28 1812
Erected by his son
JOHN CONRY
for his said dear parent and
his Family
AD 1822
This east facing limestone square topped slab measures 7ft1ins(H) x 3ft4ins(W) x 6ins(D). The top right corner of the stone is broken away and there is evidence of fossilised crinoids at the top left of the stone. The inscription is simply incised Roman lettering under a Christogram - the IHS is interesected by a cross. The mason has used space saving abbreviations such as Decd for deceased and AP for April. Although the address is not noted on the gravestone, church records give James Conroy as being from the townland of Drummaveg.
