[illegible text] Connor for him

This east facing limestone ledger slab has a half round top. The top third of the slab is fractured away from the subsiding lower two thirds and unfortunately splits the inscription making some of it illegible. From the top of the slab to the fracture measures 2ft 4in in length and from the fracture to the bottom of the stone measures 4ft 8in, making the slab 6ft 12in in total length. The width of the slab is 3ft 7in and it has a depth of 4in. The script on the ledger is incised Roman lettering and it has a christogram at the top with a tau cross intersecting the H. Masons sometimes appear to have been economical with space for lettering, ie using abbreviations, for example in this case on the first line the word 'the' is spelled ye and Edmund on the second line is shown as Edmd
