Notes:

This east facing square top limestone slab measures 6ft4½in x 3ft7in x 5in.  It has roman style incised script and contains many Brachiopod fossils.  The text in some areas of the stone is illigible and we have noted these areas using square brackets in our transcription.

There is a large christogram with cross and inverted heart at the top of the stone, carved in relief. Lettering over the arch of the christogram reads Blessed are the dead who die for me.

At the bottom of the stone there is a simply incised plough indicating Daniel O'Flaherty was a farmer.

Masons sometimes appear to have been economical with space for lettering, ie using abbreviations - in this case erectd - the word erected missing last e and has a superscript d and the word and on the last line is replaced with a symbol ꙋ
