The script on this limestone square topped headstone is incised Roman lettering. Abbreviation y was used for word 'the'. 
Under the text, the headstone shows, carved in relief, IHS intersected by a tau cross.  
This stone, measuring 1ft6ins(H) x 1ft2ins(W), is facing Westwards, a position usually reserved for clergy, although no clerical reference appears on the headstone text.  The placing of this headstone is perhaps the outcome of ill-informed graveyard enhancement.
