BENEVOLENCE, MEEKNESS AND GRATITUDE

KNOWING AND IN WISE IN YE DOCTRINE

AND PRECPTS OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION FOR THE  

STRICTLY PRACTIES WHAT HE KNEW

HE LIVED 52 YEARS IN STRADBALLY HALL WITH

ALEX DUDLEY AND POLE COSBY ESQRS.

AND WAS AT FIRST TAKEN AS PRECEPTOR AND

AFTER ENTERTAINED BY THEM FOR HIS GREAT

WORTH AND GRATITUDE FOR HIS LOVE AND

FAITHFULNESS TO YE FAMILY

HE DIED YE 6 TH OCTOBER 1734 IN THE

HUNDREAD AND FOURTH YEAR OF HIS AGE.

THIS MONUMENT WAS ERRECTED BY HIS

AFFECTE AND FAITHFUL FRIEND POLE COSBY ESQRE.
