This east facing limestone square topped headstone measures 1ft9ins(H) x 1ft4ins(W) x 4ins(D).  The inscription is simply incised Roman lettering and the mason has on the first line used space saving abbreviation ye for the word year.  Although the headstone doesn't give address, we know from church records that David Moran was from the townland of Newtown and was father to a John Moran.  The church records give his date of death as 15 May 1794.
