This East facing Limestone Ledger Stone measures 6ft1ins(H) x 2ft4ins(W) x in soil(D).  The inscription at the top is all capital letters carved in relief, but is weathered and difficult to read.  The words appear to run into each other without spacing and the mason has used letters such as an N in reverse.  Many local stonemasons or village craftsmen of the time were semi-literate or completely illiterate and this letter reversal may be a low literacy or copying error.The only certain name from the stone is Mary Barrett, the others may possibly read Conor Connolly and his wife, their son and his wife the aforementioned Mary Barrett.The only visible date of 1686 may be year of memorial erection rather than date of deaths.Under the inscription there is a number of occupational motifs for a ploughman, comprising of a coulter, an annulet or ring for attaching the coulter to the beam of the plough and a sock. It also shows a large ring-headed cross with a stepped Calvary base. A small IHS monogram and cross is located in the centre of the ring.  The letters D and M are randomly etched to the right of the cross.
