George   Dawson   (1899-1973)  was  born  in  Newtown ,  Duntryleague ,   Galbally  parish ,  Co.  Limerick  to  parents   Patrick  Dawson   &   Margaret   Wright ,  who  were   married  in   Galbally  RC  on  the  14-02-1888.  George  was  called  after  his  maternal  grandfather  George  Wright.  

Siblings  of   George   Dawson  (1899-1973)   included   Elizabeth   1889,  Ellen  1893,  Patrick  1896,  Michael   1901,   Thomas   1907-1972   &   Daniel   1910. 

George   Dawson  (1899-1973)  married   Mary   Maher   (1899-1966 )   in  Emly  RC on  the  20-06-1923.  

Their  children  recorded    here   are   Christina   ( Chrissie)   1930-1947   &   Catherine  ( Kitty)   1926-2008,  who  married   William  Heffernan  in  1958.

NB. Since this survey was completed in 2016, a plaque was laid on the left hand side of this memorial and it commemorates two more children of George Dawson ( 1899-1973 )  & his wife Mary Maher (1899-1966), namely Patrick ( Pat ) Dawson  & Margaret  (Peggy ) Dawson. The inscription reads as follows :
