In Griffiths Valuation of 1850 for the townland of Ballyhone, Emly, Co. Tipperary, Edmond Houlihan 1792-1872 was renting a house and a little over 2 acres of land from Hugh B Bradshaw for an annual rent of three pounds & five shillings.
A William Houlihan 1795-1875, probably Edmond's brother, was also renting a house and a little over 1 acre of land from Hugh B Bradshaw for an annual rent of two pounds & two shillings.
Children of William Houlihan (1840 - ) & his wife Margaret Hogan 1842-1880, born at Ballyhone, Emly included Hanora Houlihan 1873, Edmond 1874-1876, Patrick 1876 & Bridget 1880.
There were no Houlihan family members living in Ballyhone or Emly parish in the 1901 & 1911 census.
