NB.  Inscription  on  back  of  stone  is  Maurice   Kirby.

Recorded in  the  1901  &  1911  censuses  for  Emly  village ,  are  widow   Mary   Kirby  and  her  family.

In  1901 ,  her  son   John  is  a  victualler ,  Maurice  is  a  postman   and  her  daughters  Margaret &   Mary  are  dressmakers.   The  deceased  father,  Daniel  Kirby   was  also  a victualler. 

This  premises ,  later  became  a  drapery  business  under   Mary  Kirby  (1880-1968).

Daniel  Kirby, son of Maurice Kirby (1804-1864)  &  Mary Ryan,  married  Mary  Barry  in  Knocklong   RC, County  Limerick  on  the  23-02-1865. 

Children  born  to them   were   John  Kirby  1866-1921,  Maurice  1867-1958,   Daniel   1869-1938 ,   Margaret   1871-1944,  twins   Patrick   1880-1880   &   Mary   1880-1968.  None  of them married.

Daniel Kirby (1869-1938) was ordained a priest in France on Oct 28th 1893 and emigrated to the USA in November 1904 and was pastor of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, Ohio. He died on the 3rd December 1938 and was interred in Calvary cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio.

Mary Kirby, nee Barry, died  on  the 17-11-1912.  Age recorded at death was 69.

Children of Maurice Kirby (1804-1864) & Mary Ryan who emigrated to the USA and settled in Cleveland, Ohio included John Kirby (1830-1919) who married Bridget Woods,  his sister Margaret Kirby (1836-1918) who married  James Hayes & their  sister Catherine Kirby (1838-1931) who married firstly to Laurence Mulligan  and secondly to John H Murphy.
