Malachy  Ryan  (1844-1917) was  born  in  Galbally / Aherlow  parish ,  Co.  Limerick  to  parents   Andrew  Ryan  &  Margaret   Grogan.  His siblings included Mary Ryan 1839, Thomas 1840, John 1842-1908, born at Castlecreagh, Galbally, William  1846 & Patrick 1849, born at Baunteen, Riversdale, Galbally.

 Malachy Ryan 1844-1917,  married   Mary   Quinlan  (1861-1896),  daughter  of  Maurce  Quinlan  (1830-1876)  &  Mary  Waters  (1832-1874) of  Ballyhone,   Emly  on  the  08-02-1879  in   Emly  RC. 

Their  children  were  Mary  Margaret  Ryan   1880 -1880,  Maurice  1882,  Margaret  1883,  Mary  1885,   Andrew   1886,   Mary  1888,  Thomas  1890-1924,  Denis  1892-1955,  John  1893  &  Nora  1895- 1978.

William  Ryan b.1846, of Baunteen, married  Anne  Noonan, daughter of Denis Noonan of Baunteen on the 12th Feb 1896 in Lisvernane RC, Co. Tipperary. Their children included Margaret Ryan 1898, Andrew 1899, Denis 1900 & Thomas Joseph 1901,

John  Ryan 1842-1908, of Castlecreagh, Galbally, married  Catherine  Lyons, daughter of Patrick Lyons of  Tully, Glenroe, Co. Limerick  on the 12th Feb 1887 in Glenroe RC.. Their  children included Margaret Ryan 1891, Andrew 1891-1891 & Catherine 1892.

Margaret  Ryan, nee Grogan 1815-1885 died at Baunteen on the 20th Sept 1885

Her husband, Andrew Ryan 1808-1888 also died at Baunteen on the 1st Apr 1888.
