NB. Patrick  O’Connor  was  a  creamery  manager.   He married  Johanna  Mary  (Hannie)  McGrath  (1880-1917),  daughter  of  Monemore  farmer , William  McGrath  and  his  wife  Amelia  Ryan  in  Emly  RC  on  the  25-2-1906.

Known  children  born  were  Josephine O’Connor 1907,  Patrick  1909,  William  Patrick 1911,  Amelia  1912  &  Mary  1913. 

There  may  have  been  other children,  as  their  mother  Hannie  died  in 1917  of  pernicious  anaemia, caused  by  childbirth. 

Patrick O’Connor who had  this  headstone  erected  was born in Duncummin, Emly, Co. Tipperary on  the 21st August 1879.

His parents were farmer Patrick O’Connor /Connors and Johanna, nee Hogan who died on the 09-09-1912 & the 10-11-1932 respectively. The 1911 census records that Patrick & Johanna O’ Connor/Connors had been married for 39 years and that there was eight surviving children out of a total of eleven that had been born.

Their other children included Thomas, Daniel b. 22-08-1882, John, Johanna & the youngest Mary who married Patrick Maher, son of farmer Matthew Maher of Glenbane in Emly RC on the 10-02-1915.
