Michael Burke (1896-1962), son of Mick Burke (1876-1948) & Julia Burke (1874-1950) nee O’Brien of memorial no. 0369.

Michael Burke (1896-1962) married Ellen Butler (1899-1984), daughter of John Butler (1868-1929) and Julia Casey in Emly RC on the 17-01-1920.

Children born to them were as follows:

Michael Burke (1923-1958), of  this memorial,  married  Mary Burke (1928-1997).  Michael, aged 34, died of a heart attack and his widow Mary remarried to Tommy (Steve) Burke. Both Mary & Tommy Burke  are interred in Emly’s new cemetery.

Julia Burke (1925-1999), known as Sheila, married Paddy Kelly (1925-1996), a native of Naas, Co. Kildare. Both are interred in Emly’s new cemetery.

Teresa Burke  (1926-1991)  of this memorial.

Patrick Burke / Bourke (1928-2006), known as the Gent, of memorial no. 0339, married Bridget (Biddy) Ryan (1938-1990) of memorial no. 0337. Bridget was a native of Old Pallas, Co. Limerick. Family known as Ryan (Bevan).

Ellen Burke (1931-2015), known as Nellie, married Tommy Higgins (1930-2014), a native of Castlejane, near Knockarron, Co. Limerick. Both are interred in Emly’s new cemetery in the burial plot adjacent to Nellie’s sister Kitty Cunningham & her husband JJ.

Catherine Burke (1933-1991), known as Kitty, married JJ Cunningham (1934-2020) a native of Roseboro, Co. Tipperary. Both are interred in Emly’s new cemetery  in the burial plot adjacent  to Kitty's  sister  Nellie & her husband Tommy Higgins.

Thomas Burke (1940-2005), known as Toddy, married Pauline Carey, a native of Kilross, Co. Tipperary. He is interred in Emly’s new cemetery.
