John Lonergan married Mary Dawson on Jan 26th 1839 in Emly RC, Co. Tipperary. His address at the time was recorded as Monemore, Emly. Children born to them included Michael Lonergan 1839-1918, John 1841, James 1844, Ely 1846 & Anne 1850.
Michael Lonergan 1839-1918, married Mary Daly on Feb 16th 1867 in Emly RC. Children born to them in Emly included Mary Lonergan 1868-1868, Patrick 1869, John 1871-1954 (of this memorial), Anne 1874 & Mary 1876.
John Lonergan 1871-1954, married Mary O’Brien 1885-1949 ( of this memorial), daughter of Edmond O’Brien & Margaret Madden of Bohercarron, Duntryleague, Galbally, Co. Limerick on Feb 8th 1919 in Galbally RC. Children born to them at Drumcomogue, Emly included Michael Lonergan 1920-1966 (of this memorial), Margaret 1922-2005 & Mary 1923-2005.
Michael lonergan 1920-1966, a bachelor, died as a result of asphyxia from a compression of a fracture of the chest wall. His sisters Mary Lavery 1923-2005 & Margaret Hourigan 1922-2005. who had this memorial erected, are recorded on a plaque at the base of it.

NB. A small headstone , existed between this memorial and the adjacent memorial 0282, when the book The Gravestones Inscriptions of Emly was documented in 1993 and must have been moved when this survey was undertaken in 2015/16. It has since been positioned lying up against a small headstone that can be seen in the background of this memorial 0281. The inscription reads as follows :
Erected by Matthew Dempsey of Monemore, in memory of his father Dan Dempsey who departed this life January 30, 1824, aged 78 years. May he rest in peace.
Griffiths Valuation for Monemore, Emly records Jeremiah Dempsey as a tenant of Heffernan Cosidine of Derk from whom he was renting just over 22 acres. Jeremiah, in turn had sublet a house and land of just over one acre to a Michael Dempsey and also a house and garden to a John Lonergan.
