NB. The 1901 Census for Emly village records John Fleming as a farmer and shopkeeper.

He was born in Emly in 1845, the son of Thomas Fleming & Margaret  O’Donnell.

Flemings was a pub & shop, later owned by Willie McEniry.

John Fleming’s wife was Maria (Mary) Barry., daughter of Thomas Barry of Cloghaviller, Ballinard, Herbertstown, Co. Limerick. They were married in Hospital RC, Co. Limerick on the 02-01-1889.

They had two children, Mary Fleming (11-12-1889 - 02-06-1962) & Thomas 1892.

Mary Fleming 1889-1962  married Richard O’Carroll (1881-1942), son of William  O'Carroll & Hanora Power of Cromhill, Kilteely, Co. Limerick in Emly RC on the 27-11-1912. Mary  was interred with her husband Richard O'Carroll at memorial 0449.

Mary's brother, Thomas Fleming was ordained a priest about 1930.
