Ailbe  (Elly) Lonergan  married Mary Farrell in Emly RC, Co. Tipperary on the 13th Nov 1889. Their children included  Johanna Lonergan 1890, Ailbe 1892-1981, John 1895-1980 ( of this memorial ) & James 1897-1973.

John Lonergan 1895-1980, a shopkeeper, butcher & postman  married  Mary O’Reilly 1893-1944, daughter of Patrick O’Reilly 1866-1938 & Mary Riordan 1854-1937 of Ballinscaula, Bulgaden, Co. Limerick on the 14th Apr 1926 in Emly RC, Co. Tipperary.

Their children included Mary ( Maura ) Lonergan 1927-2010, Johanna ( Jo ), 1928-2023, John ( Jackie ) 1932-2003, Ellen ( Nell ) 1933-1983, Patrick ( Paddy ) 1935-1996 & Brigid  (Bridie ) 1939.

Maura Lonergan 1927-2010 joined the Presentation Sisters and was known as Sr. Perpetua. She died in Kilcock, Co. Kildare and is interred in Mainham  cemetery in Clane, Co. Kildare.

Jackie Lonergan 1932-2003, a shopkeeper & butcher at Main St. Emly is interred in Emly’s new cemetery.

Nell Lonergan 1933-1983 married Michael Ryan 1929-2013 of Kilross, Co. Tipperary.

Jo Lonergan 1928-2023, married  Patrick Cahill. She died on the 27th Feb 2023 in Rushbrooke, Cobh, Co. Cork. Her obituary reads as follows :

Johanna ( Jo ) Cahill ( née Lonergan ) of  Rushbrooke, Cobh, Co. Cork  / Emly, Co.Tipperary died at  Cobh Community Hospital on the 27th of February 2023. Beloved wife of the late Patrick Cahill.

 Deeply mourned by her sister Bridie O' Connor (Newport, Wales), sons Diarmuid and John, daughters in law Patricia and Margie, grandchildren Jennifer, Fiona, Patrick, Jack, Evelyn and great-grandchildren Elaine, Alison and Diarmúid, her nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

 Jo will repose at her home in Rushbrooke, Cobh, Co. Cork on the 28th of February 2023, from 5.30pm to 8pm. Removal from her home at 11.15am on Wednesday, the 1st of March 2023, for Requiem Mass in Cobh Cathedral at 12pm, followed by burial in St Colman's cemetery.
