Rev Richard Thomas Meade was married to Sarah, a daughter of Abraham Lane (see grave 40 in this graveyard). Richard was the second son of Rev Thomas Meade, rector of Templetrine and previous Innishannon and the grandson of the Rev Richard Meade of Innishannon from 1796-1808. Richard's mother was Elizabeth, only child of Major John Campbell of West End House, Innishannon by whom there were also two other sons (1) John Campbell of Innishannon who married Anne, daughter of Captain W.H. Herrick, RN of Shippool Castle and (3) Thomas; and three daughters Mary de Courcey, Emma and Frederica.
Reverend Richard was ordained in 1840 and from 1840-1856 he was curate of Killowen near Bandon. In 1856 he was at Island, Ross and was then appointed rector of Templetrine where he stayed until he became rector of Nohoval. He married Sarah in 1843, the daughter of Abraham Lane by his wife Elizabeth.
Richard and Sarah had:
Elizabeth Thomasina who was baptised in Killowen in 1844. She became a popular author "L.T. Meade"
Thomas Gerard de Courcey Meade was baptised in Killowen in 1846. He became rector of Killarney where he died in 1879. He married Miss Neligan, a step sister of Sir John Chute Neligan, recorder of Cork and had a son and three daughters.
Sarah Avril Meade was baptised at Killowen in 1847
Abraham William Dunscombe Meade who is buried in this plot was baptised in 1848 at Killowen Glebe.
Richard Frederick Meade who is buried in this plot was baptised in 1850 at Killowen Glebe.
